Role Overview
The QHSE Supervisor will oversee quality, health, safety, environment, food safety, and inventory-control requirements across a fruits and vegetables cold-store operation.
The role acts as a subject-matter specialist for fresh-produce quality and food-safety practices and reports to the Operations Manager.
Quality Control
- Supervise quality-control activities across inbound, storage, processing, cross-dock, and outbound operations.
- Conduct sampling, receiving inspections, grading, product-acceptance checks, destructive sampling, and internal quality analysis.
- Segregate prime, reject, damaged, and expired stock and escalate recurring supplier and vendor quality issues.
Food Safety and Hygiene
- Ensure compliance with UAE food-safety regulations, Dubai Municipality Foodwatch requirements, internal standards, and GMP.
- Monitor storage temperatures, temperature records, FIFO and FEFO, hygiene, pest control, product segregation, and food-contact areas.
- Investigate contamination, spoilage, and food-safety incidents and maintain inspection records.
Health and Safety
- Inspect warehouse, cold-store, loading, and unloading areas for unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and operational risks.
- Monitor PPE use, forklift and pedestrian segregation, access routes, emergency equipment, and evacuation readiness.
- Conduct toolbox talks and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and property damage.
Inventory and Dispatch
- Supervise cycle counts, physical stock verification, variance investigations, recounts, stock counts, product traceability, and inventory records.
- Audit inbound and outbound product quality, temperature, pre-cooling, pallet condition, packaging, labelling, quantity, and FIFO/FEFO compliance.
Calibration, Training, and Reporting
- Coordinate calibration of scales, thermometers, temperature probes, and other quality-monitoring devices.
- Train warehouse, receiving, QC, and operations associates on fresh-produce handling, quality, hygiene, food safety, cold-chain, and safety requirements.
- Prepare quality and safety reports, maintain audit evidence, track deviations and corrective actions, and support regulatory and certification audits.
Education and Certification
- PIC Level 3 Certification is mandatory.
- A diploma or bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.
- HACCP, food safety, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, IOSH, NEBOSH, or internal auditor certification is preferred.
Experience Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in quality, food safety, QHSE, inventory control, or warehouse operations is required.
- UAE food-industry or cold-store experience and knowledge of Dubai Municipality Foodwatch requirements are mandatory.
- Fresh-produce, temperature-controlled operations, cycle-counting, and variance-investigation experience are required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay is AED 6,000–6,500 per month.
