Job Description
The QC Manager will lead and oversee Quality Control across the design and construction phases of a major aviation project.
The role ensures design deliverables, construction works, testing, commissioning, and handover comply with approved requirements and contractual obligations.
The position coordinates with the appointed QA company and project stakeholders on quality management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design-phase quality control and verify that design deliverables meet project requirements, codes, standards, and aviation requirements.
- Establish quality procedures, workflows, checklists, quality gates, and documented design verification processes.
- Lead the QC team and maintain the Project Quality Control Plan and related procedures.
- Review ITPs, method statements, inspection requests, checklists, material submittals, and test reports.
- Oversee site inspections, construction quality, materials, workmanship, installations, testing, and commissioning.
- Manage NCRs, corrective and preventive actions, audits, inspections, quality records, and stakeholder coordination.
- Coordinate with the QA company on audits, inspections, reporting, and compliance.
- Monitor quality through operational readiness and handover and oversee punch-list and outstanding issue closure.
- Prepare quality reports, KPIs, performance updates, as-built records, O&M manuals, and handover dossiers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant QA/QC experience, including significant managerial or supervisory experience.
- Experience managing QC teams on large-scale construction, infrastructure, aviation, or complex development projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, construction inspection, testing, commissioning, ITPs, method statements, NCRs, and quality documentation.
- Knowledge of international standards, codes, specifications, and contractual quality requirements.
- Practical ISO 9001 experience is required, while relevant certification is preferred.
- CQI/IRCA, ASQ, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
- Excellent English communication, leadership, coordination, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of sustainable construction practices and their application in project delivery.
