Role Overview

Airswift is seeking a QC Inspector (Instrument) to work in Qatar with a major oil and gas company.

The role covers quality control inspection across electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and cathodic protection systems.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree or diploma in electrical, electronic, instrumentation, or telecommunications engineering is required.
  • The role requires 10 years of QA/QC inspection experience for bachelor's degree holders or 15 years for diploma holders.
  • Experience must cover electrical and instrumentation works in oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial construction projects.
  • GCC experience, formal QC training, and professional institution membership are preferred.
  • Hazardous area knowledge and Ex-inspection compatibility experience are preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning is required.
  • Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and project specifications is required.
  • The role requires coordination with contractors, vendors, and client representatives in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.

Inspection Responsibilities

  • Inspect electrical and instrumentation construction against approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, procedures, codes, and standards.
  • Perform surveillance of electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and cathodic protection systems through fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, start-up, and handover.
  • Witness and document FAT and SAT activities for electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and cathodic protection equipment and systems.
  • Inspect transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution panels, UPS systems, cables, junction boxes, instruments, PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and related equipment.
  • Verify cable routing, termination, glanding, earthing, grounding, lighting, and electrical equipment installation.
  • Inspect impulse tubing, instrument hook-ups, control valves, transmitters, analyzers, junction boxes, and marshalling cabinets.

Testing and Quality Documentation

  • Monitor insulation resistance, continuity, grounding, loop checking, calibration, functional testing, and system acceptance tests.
  • Verify material receiving inspections and compliance with approved specifications and material certifications.
  • Review inspection records, test reports, calibration certificates, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate inspection activities and follow non-conformities and corrective actions through close-out.
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated and support the Project Quality Management System and HSE requirements.
