Role Overview
This is a long-term contract QA/QC Engineer role supporting a major oil and gas operator.
The position is based at an onshore Qatar site in Ras Laffan.
The working schedule is five days per week for eight to ten hours per day, or as required by the project.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Coordinate QA/QC inspectors, contract engineers and inspectors, and NDT technicians.
- Conduct metallurgical failure analysis on failed plant or offshore components.
- Support procurement inspection requirements, technical bid evaluations, TPI appointments, and warehouse material receiving inspection.
- Review repair instructions, WPSs, PQRs, and QA/QC reports, including alternative testing methods.
- Provide QA/QC input for startup readiness, lessons learned, risk assessments, management of change, and root cause analysis.
- Support repair and modification scopes of work, contractor document reviews, and technical bid evaluations.
- Audit supplier and contractor Quality Management Systems and follow up corrective actions.
- Promote quality awareness through training, knowledge sharing, and procedure rollout sessions.
- Plan inspection and certification of gas cylinders, portable tanks, and lifting equipment.
- Support QA/QC procedure updates and the Operations Readiness Plan process.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Professional certification in welding, NDT, inspection, or auditing.
- At least four years of QA/QC experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, inspection, and installation of process equipment and piping.
- Ability to troubleshoot welding and QA/QC issues.
