About the Role

  • We are looking for a dynamic and multi tasking Purchase officer responsible for managing the procurement of construction materials, equipment services, and consumables required for civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services as per project requirements.
  • Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers and negotiate the best commercial terms.
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company procurement policies.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, planning teams, and the warehouse to ensure timely material delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers and identify new vendors.
  • Monitor market trends, material prices, and supplier performance to achieve cost savings.
  • Ensure all purchased materials comply with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
  • Track purchase orders and expedite deliveries to avoid project delays.
  • Resolve supplier related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations.
  • Support tendering and estimation teams by obtaining competitive quotations during bid preparation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional procurement certifications are an added advantage.

Experience

  • 7 10 years of procurement experience in civil construction or contracting companies.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and subcontract procurement.
  • Experience working in the GCC/UAE construction industry is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, technical specifications, and supplier networks.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Xpedion) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadline.
