About the Role
SAM Building Contracting seeks a Project/Site Engineer (MEP) to supervise MEP activities, ensure compliance with drawings and regulations, and coordinate with stakeholders. Requires knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV systems, plus UAE building codes.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor daily MEP activities at the construction site
- Ensure all MEP works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and regulations
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines
- Review construction drawings and identify discrepancies or design issues
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work quality and compliance
- Prepare and monitor project work schedules and resource requirements
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of MEP materials, equipment, and tools
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely completion
- Attend project progress meetings and provide technical inputs
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover activities
- Maintain site records, daily reports, progress reports, and inspection records
- Prepare and submit RFIs, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents
Requirements
- Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Understanding of testing and commissioning procedures
- Knowledge of UAE building codes, DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Civil Defense, and municipality regulations
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines

Project Execution & Site Supervision
- Supervise and monitor daily MEP activities at the construction site.
- Ensure all MEP works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, local authority regulations, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.
- Review construction drawings and identify discrepancies, conflicts, or design issues.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work quality and compliance with project specifications.
Planning & Coordination
- Prepare and monitor project work schedules and resource requirements.
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of MEP materials, equipment, and tools.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of works.
- Attend project progress meetings and provide technical inputs and updates.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
Quality Control
- Ensure all MEP installations meet quality standards and approved shop drawings.
- Conduct inspections and prepare snag lists for rectification.
- Monitor compliance with project quality plans and inspection procedures.
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel for inspections and approvals.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and site HSE requirements.
- Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site audits.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed by all site personnel and subcontractors.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain site records, daily reports, progress reports, and inspection records.
- Prepare and submit RFIs, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents.
- Monitor project progress against schedules and report delays or risks to management.
- Assist in preparation of variation orders, claims, and project closeout documentation.
- Coordinate with authorities and consultants for inspections and approvals.
Testing & Commissioning
- Supervise testing and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV systems.
- Ensure all systems perform according to design requirements and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate final inspections and handover documentation.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of testing and commissioning procedures.
- Familiarity with project planning and scheduling software is an advantage.
- Knowledge of UAE building codes, DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Civil Defense, and municipality regulations.
