Job Overview
Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of HVAC systems on construction projects.
Ensure HVAC work meets specifications, industry standards, project timelines, safety requirements, quality standards, and environmental compliance.
HVAC Design and Planning
- Review HVAC drawings, specifications, and systems for project requirements, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate HVAC systems with electrical and other building systems.
- Prepare project schedules, budgets, resource allocations, and performance-focused HVAC plans.
Project Execution and Supervision
- Oversee HVAC installation, commissioning, and testing on site.
- Supervise HVAC teams, conduct site inspections, monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate technical resolutions.
Quality, Compliance, and Risk
- Implement quality control procedures and verify HVAC components meet performance standards and safety codes.
- Complete testing, commissioning, and validation before system handover.
- Manage risks, provide technical solutions, and adjust schedules or resources to maintain project timelines.
Budget, Collaboration, and Reporting
- Track HVAC-related costs, review supplier invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Maintain drawings, specifications, permits, approvals, and other records, and submit progress reports.
Experience and Education
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong technical expertise in engineering principles and project execution.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies and design standards.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
