About the Role

Product Ownership and Commercial Authority

• Act as the final technical and commercial decision-maker for the P220i.
• Own the product roadmap, configuration baseline, requirements, and change control.
• Own unit cost, pricing, margin, capital intensity, and the product business case.

Partnership and Manufacturing

• Manage the Italy-based development and manufacturing partnership, including technical direction, milestones, deliverables, and commercial terms.
• Drive build, assembly, and industrialisation at the Italy facility, with strong on-site presence during development and build.

Engineering and Programme Delivery

• Define engine requirements and interface control for mechanical, electrical, ECU/EFI, and ICD interfaces.
• Drive architecture decisions covering heavy-fuel architecture, EFI/ECU, redundancy, generator or power, and installation envelope.
• Own the master schedule, risk register, delivery gates, programme reporting, interdependencies, and recovery planning.

Testing and Qualification

• Own the test and qualification strategy and direct the assigned Test Engineer.
• Approve test plans, acceptance criteria, and qualification evidence.
• Participate in test-cell, integration, and flight-test campaigns and sign off test data.
• Drive compliance with customer specifications and applicable airworthiness and environmental standards.

Customers and Business Development

• Serve as the primary technical and commercial contact for MALE-class customers.
• Lead RFQs, statements of work, quotations, and negotiations with business development support.
• Develop the high-value MALE-class pipeline regionally and internationally.

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive, or Propulsion Engineering; a Master’s degree is desirable.
• At least 8 years of engine or powertrain development or propulsion programme management experience, including significant programme leadership.
• End-to-end ownership of a complex engine or powertrain product through development, qualification, and delivery.
• Experience managing development or manufacturing partnerships or joint ventures, ideally cross-border.
• Strong commercial acumen with high-value, capital-intensive products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Heavy-fuel or larger-displacement engine experience and MALE-class UAV propulsion experience.
• Defence programme, offset or joint-venture experience, and ISO 9001 or AS9100 environment experience.
• Engine architecture and integration, EFI/ECU, fuel systems, performance, reliability, industrialisation, or partnership governance experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks, STEP/CATIA, requirements and ICD management, or programme, cost, and risk tooling.

Workplace and Collaboration

• The role requires strong on-site presence at the Italy facility during development and build, as well as participation in test and integration campaigns.
• English proficiency is required for collaboration across international teams.
