The opportunity

Smythe LLP is seeking an experienced, business-minded Product Owner to join its Digital team.

The role shapes enterprise business applications and digital products that improve client experiences, streamline operations, and deliver measurable business value.

The position is based in the Vancouver office, with hybrid work available after the probationary period.

Responsibilities

  • Define product vision, roadmaps, priorities, and delivery objectives.
  • Improve business processes, client experiences, operational efficiency, data quality, and business outcomes through technology solutions.
  • Manage the product backlog, including epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and defect remediation.
  • Participate in Agile delivery activities such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and release planning.
  • Translate business needs into requirements, user stories, process flows, and solution requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, QA professionals, vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Support enterprise applications including CRM, ERP, portals, workflow solutions, reporting platforms, and integrated systems.
  • Support change management, training, user adoption, product performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.

What you bring

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or in a related role.
  • Experience delivering enterprise application implementations, enhancements, or business transformation initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with relevant enterprise platforms, systems integrations, APIs, data governance, or master data management.
  • Experience working with stakeholders, software development teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
  • Strong business process analysis, requirements management, systems integration, communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Business process mapping, solution design, and requirements documentation experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, systems integration, and enterprise data management is preferred.
  • Digital transformation, automation, or AI-enabled business initiative experience is preferred.
  • A degree or diploma in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • CSPO, PSPO, CBAP, PMP, or another relevant certification is considered an asset.
