About the Role

Responsibilities
- Purchase parts, equipment and materials by means of purchase order
- Apply ZMI suppliers’ selection criteria as outlined in the SHEQMS Purchasing Procedures
- Identify and recommend suppliers through investigation and research
- Research and obtain quotations for high cost items and maintain price comparisons
- Ensure orders are placed with suppliers listed on ZMI Supplier List and that give the most effective service
- Ensure all purchases are carried out using agreed procedures
- Ensure purchasing system database is fully utilized and maintained
- Identify critical orders with the requestor and agree on delivery details
- Follow up delivery of orders and ensure delivery criteria are met
- Maintain full communications with Vessels and Fleet Managers regarding critical deliveries/order placement
- Liaise with accounts regarding overseas orders payments and invoices
- Ensure monthly accrual report reaches accounts department timeously
Requirements
- Diploma in Purchasing Management or Supply Chain Management or related courses
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Purchasing Officer
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyze market trends and make informed purchasing decisions
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices

Key Responsibilities
- Purchase parts, equipment and materials by means of purchase order.
