Job Purpose

Support process engineering activities during EPC and startup until handover to the permanent asset team.

Ensure project deliverables meet operations expectations for safety, operability, reliability, and maintainability throughout the facility design life cycle.

Internal and External Interfaces

  • Maintain regular contact with the Project Management Team and Operations departments.
  • Maintain periodic contact with Engineering and Projects Group and HSEQ.
  • Engage with shareholder subject matter experts, EPC contractors, vendors, suppliers, and engineering consultants.
  • Influence project decisions by considering both capital expenditure and operating expenditure across the project life cycle.
  • Ensure compliance with company specifications, processes, and procedures for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support RCFA, HAZOP, FRA, HAZID, SIL verification, process safety, and reliability activities.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures required for new projects.
  • Develop and implement process surveillance tools to support safe, reliable, and optimized production.
  • Participate in system completion walk-downs before commissioning and startup, including chemical and catalyst loading activities.
  • Maintain issue registers and resolve critical issues involving new technology risks, reliability, availability, and cybersecurity.
  • Provide technical input to other disciplines and functions as required.
  • Support project tie-in requirements for systems within the area of responsibility.
  • Support high-risk commissioning through system surveillance, system tuning, optimization, and advisory support to operations and maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience in an oil and gas environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work and make decisions under highly stressful conditions.
  • Strong leadership and people skills.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SAP.
