We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for offshore oil and gas projects in Qatar. The role involves leading electrical engineering services, managing teams, and ensuring project compliance.

Responsibilities
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and comply with required checking procedures
- Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes
- Provide advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities
- Oversee requisitions, technical bid evaluations and purchase order preparation
- Ensure team member adherence to accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications
- Support the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates
- Provide specialist technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline and project teams
- Support management of project change and progressing for the discipline
- Collaborate with project team in review of project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules
- Lead weekly Electrical meetings, review progress reports and required checking procedures
- Act as the electrical engineering Lead on specific projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University
- Minimum 17+ years design experience (Detailed Design, PRE FEED, FEED) within the oil and gas industry
- Last 5 years at least leading a team of discipline engineers and designers
- Minimum 10 years in Offshore projects
- Extensive work experience at a senior level within the Oil & Gas industry
- Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in leading large projects

Job Title
- Principal Electrical Engineer – Offshore Oil & Gas (In House Projects)
Responsibilities

- Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
- Provide advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, oversee requisitions, technical bid evaluations and purchase order preparation.
- Ensures team member adherence to accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
- Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
- Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
- Provide specialist technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline and project teams; participate in peer reviews.
- Supports management of project change and progressing for the discipline and works with the Project Management Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, staffing requirements, scope changes, progressing, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
- Collaborates with project team in review of project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules.
- Leads weekly Electrical meetings, reviews progress reports and required checking procedures.
Manage electrical engineering services such as:
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and comply with required checking procedures;
- Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;
- Provide advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, oversee requisitions, technical bid evaluations and purchase order preparation.
- Act as the electrical engineering Lead on specific projects.
If responsible for a team:
- Outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress;
- Ensure the required services meet company, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
- Proactively resolve any discrepancies between company and its Customer's requirements.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in electrical engineering.
- If required, assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team.
- Communicate effectively with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
Requirements
- Must have Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University.
- Minimum 17+ years design experience (Detailed Design, PRE FEED, FEED) within the oil and gas industry, with last 5 years' at least, leading a team of discipline engineers and designers.
- Minimum 10 years in Offshore projects.
