Role overview

Deliver environmental due diligence for UK and global M&A transactions, supporting buy-side and sell-side clients.

Identify EHS and ESG risks and opportunities and provide targeted advice for transactions and post-acquisition sustainability priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals with pricing, budgets, and timescales and participate in client discussions.
  • Manage medium to large due diligence projects, including multi-site projects across several geographies.
  • Deliver Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Limited Environmental Compliance Review assessments.
  • Deliver ESG assessments using data-room and publicly available information research.
  • Interpret information, participate in management calls, and prepare focused client reports.

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant degree or qualifications, ideally in environmental studies, geography, or a similar field.
  • Sound understanding of UK environmental regulations and key environmental and sustainability regulations in Europe.
  • 7–12 years of practical relevant experience delivering environmental due diligence work.
  • Hands-on experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Limited Environmental Compliance Review assessments.
  • Experience supporting proposal preparation and project management.
  • Experience with ESG assessments and ASTM standards is preferred.

  • Strong EHS and ESG knowledge, project management, proposal development, client communication, and environmental reporting skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently, proactively, and autonomously while collaborating with clients, advisors, and specialists.

Travel and project context

  • The role includes site visits and willingness to travel, typically within the UK and Ireland.
  • Projects may cover industrial, commercial, infrastructure, manufacturing, and other assets across multiple geographies.

Transaction advisory context

Advice supports negotiations during bidding processes and informed sustainability decisions after acquisitions.

The role works closely with in-house specialists across EHS and ESG disciplines.
