Principal ELV & IBMS Engineer – Data centres - Dubai

Role Overview

Client Engagement and Technical Leadership

• Act as the primary ELV and IBMS technical contact for clients and lead architecture and operational readiness discussions.
• Engage with client SMEs, SOCs, IT teams, global stakeholders, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Prepare design basis reports, architecture narratives, cause-and-effect matrices, integration strategies, proposals, and RFP or TQR responses.

System Architecture and Integration

• Define architectures integrating BMS, EPMS, DCIM, CCTV/VMS, access control, perimeter protection, fire alarm, VESDA, and PA/VA systems.
• Design systems for 10–100 MW IT-load facilities with mission-critical security zoning, network architecture, and Tier III/IV-aligned redundancy.
• Develop PLC architecture, control logic, I/O lists, network topology, BACnet, Modbus, IEC-61850, and OPC UA integrations.
• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, HVAC, security, SOC, emergency shutdown, load shedding, and thermal management interfaces.

Detailed Design and Documentation

• Lead ELV schematics, IBMS architecture diagrams, network topology drawings, equipment schedules, specifications, BOQs, and integration test procedures through IFC stage.
• Review and approve coordinated AutoCAD and Revit models at LOD350.
• Develop vendor selection criteria, conduct technical evaluations, and review submittals for architectural compliance.

Construction, Testing, and Commissioning

• Lead coordination across electrical, mechanical, structural, fire protection, IT, and BIM teams during installation and testing.
• Support equipment staging, network deployment, cable commissioning, system validation, FAT, SAT, and integrated system testing.
• Validate redundancy, failover logic, operational workflows, and cause-and-effect behavior through live testing.
• Lead operator training and handover documentation to ensure SOC readiness.

Team Leadership

• Develop internal design guidelines and lead the regional DC ELV/IBMS team.
• Mentor ELV engineers, systems integrators, and network specialists.
• Establish IBMS architecture and integration standards and drive design quality, risk management, and technical issue resolution.

Qualifications and Experience

• BE or BTech degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Telecom Engineering.
• Professional registration or equivalent standing as an engineer.
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, fire safety, security operations, network architecture, and commissioning procedures.

Good to Have

• OEM certification in BMS platforms.
• Hands-on hyperscale or colocation data centre commissioning experience.
• SOC design, advanced security technology, DCIM, data centre analytics, or KSA regulatory experience.
