Responsibilities
- Review of the RFP/tender document, presentation of various system design cases of BESS philosophy, preparation of SLD and a high level BOQ
- Review and benchmarking of International RFPs and undertake best practices
- Conduct BESS sizing and prepare business case review
- Evaluation of techno commercial proposals from selected BESS integrators and EPC contractors
- Preparation of technical specification for Battery system
- Identifications of Risks, both in the technical domain and contractually, and mitigation of those risks
- Energy forecasting in case of Solar + BESS project
- Conduct long term simulation till the PPA life and predict battery degradation
- Selection of battery chemistry based on power and cycle requirement, PCS sizing
- Assess the ongoing trends and latest developments with respect to the deployment of the battery energy storage solutions
- Preparing Specifications of the various technical components of Battery Energy Storage
- Defining BESS capacity augmentation strategy during life of the project
Requirements
- Bachelor/Master's Degree in Electrical /Electronics Engineering
- Minimum 10 12 years of working experience with similar capacity
- Proficient with BESS sizing softwares like Homer PRo, PV Syst, PV Case etc.
- Must have experience in BESS sizing and design related to utility scale projects
- People managing skill, with excellent written and verbal skills

- WSP are looking for Principal Engineer BESS with over twelve years experience of overall responsibility of strong engineering design, sizing, installation, configuration testing and commissioning, co ordination including site supervision of works.
Requirements
- Bachelor/Master's Degree in Electrical /Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 10 12 years of working experience with similar capacity.
- Proficient with BESS sizing softwares like Homer PRo, PV Syst, PV Case etc.
- Must have experience in BESS sizing and design related to utility scale projects.
- Battery technology selection, specification preparation and analysis of different battery chemistries etc.
- Essentially having detailed knowledge related to review of BESS OEM/contractor's drawings.
- People managing skill, with excellent written and verbal skills. Able to build excellent client relations through communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
Responsibilities
- Review of the RFP/tender document, presentation of various system design cases of BESS philosophy, preparation of SLD and a high level BOQ in line with the tender document.
- Review and benchmarking of International RFPs and undertake best practices.
- Bid strategy: Conduct BESS sizing and prepare business case review.
- Evaluation of techno commercial proposals from selected BESS integrators and EPC contractors.
- Preparation of technical specification for Battery system in accordance with the tender basis on which Vendor evaluation, comparison and selection.
- Identifications of Risks, both in the technical domain and contractually, and mitigation of those risks.
- Energy forecasting in case of Solar + BESS project.
- Conduct long term simulation till the PPA life and predict battery degradation to factor in augmentation or replacement.
- Selection of battery chemistry based on power and cycle requirement, PCS sizing. Topology selection considering curtailment, clipping loss and RFP requirements.
- Assess the ongoing trends and latest developments with respect to the deployment of the battery energy storage solutions coupled with Solar projects.
- Preparing Specifications of the various technical components of Battery Energy Storage in line with relevant IEC Codes wherever applicable.
- Defining BESS capacity augmentation strategy during life of the project to maintain tender document requirement.
Additional Information
- Strong understanding of Middle East energy market with focus on renewable sector and ability to manage the client with end to end project execution skills.
- Flexible to travel to client offices and projects sites based on project requirement.
