Role Overview
- WSP in the Middle East seeks an experienced Associate Director Fire & Life Safety to lead and grow the specialist team in Dubai, UAE.
- The role focuses on delivering complex Fire and Life Safety strategies across major infrastructure and building projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Fire & Life Safety team on multidisciplinary projects.
- Lead design efforts to ensure compliance with building codes and standards, developing performance based design solutions.
- Conduct onsite inspections during construction to ensure adherence to fire strategy.
- Coordinate and present projects to approving authorities.
- Review material submittals and shop drawings.
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams, integrating fire and life safety requirements.
- Interpret and analyze CFD modeling results (1D/3D).
- Develop comprehensive fire strategy reports in line with IFEG and SFPE standards.
- Review designs in BIM (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit).
- Mentor, support and manage junior staff.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring QMS compliance.
Technical Expertise
- Take Commercial and Technical leadership for FLS projects, owning client relationships and work winning.
- Hold a leadership position within Specialist Services to support strategic goals.
- Uphold highest standards of quality assurance.
- Deliver high quality, technically accurate design reports.
- Lead development of fire and life safety drawings.
- Lead technical workgroups reviewing architectural, FLS, fire protection, and MEP drawings.
- Review material submittals for compliance.
- Proficient in International Building Code, International Fire Code, Saudi Building Codes, and NFPA standards.
