- As a Senior Work Inspector, you will play a crucial role in our GEC Supervision department, specifically focusing on utility infrastructure works.
- Your primary responsibility is to uphold the highest standards of quality and safety throughout the construction process.
- This role involves close collaboration with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure that all works are executed in accordance with approved plans and regulations.
- Oversee and inspect utility infrastructure works to ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and approved drawings.
- Monitor construction activities, conduct regular site visits, and maintain detailed records of progress and quality control measures.
- Identify and report any non-conformances, providing timely feedback to contractors and project teams.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve issues, ensure smooth project execution, and maintain open lines of communication.
- Review and approve contractor-submitted documents, including method statements, safety plans, and quality control procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior inspectors and construction teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive inspection reports, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement.
- Attend project meetings, represent the QA department, and provide expert input on utility-related matters.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in utility infrastructure to enhance inspection processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction inspection, with a focus on utility infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of utility infrastructure design, construction processes, and relevant industry standards.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement effective safety measures on-site.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools, software, and technologies for data collection and reporting.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify potential issues and propose practical solutions.
- Valid professional certifications or licenses relevant to the field (e.g., CWI, CWII, or equivalent).
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in diverse environmental conditions.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
