Role overview
Principal AI Engineer role focused on building AI-powered mobile capabilities for aerospace and defense customers.
The role combines Applied AI, forward-deployed engineering, mobile product development, and end-to-end operational ownership.
What you will do
- Define and deliver a field-ready mobile experience for aviation maintenance, including constrained-connectivity use cases.
- Build production AI capabilities using model integration, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic architectures, evaluation, and MLOps.
- Use AI-assisted and agentic development tooling as a core engineering capability.
- Deploy, integrate, and harden solutions directly in customer environments.
- Integrate IFS with ERP, CRM, IoT, telemetry, legacy, and mission systems.
- Own design, development, testing, deployment, CI/CD, and operational reliability across cloud, edge, and mobile environments.
- Set technical strategy across product groups, make architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and represent IFS with customers and partners.
Essential qualifications
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted and agentic development tooling and shipping production AI capabilities.
- Proven experience building and shipping production mobile applications.
- Recognized technical authority with cross-team or cross-product strategic impact.
