Job summary
The role joins an enterprise application development team as a PowerBuilder Developer.
The developer will design, develop, test, maintain, and modernize robust client-server and n-tier applications using Sybase PowerBuilder.
The position supports software delivery, production support, and modernization and migration initiatives.
Application development
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using PowerBuilder 10.x, 12.x, 2019, or 2022.
- Build DataWindows, windows, menus, tab controls, and user objects.
- Develop reusable PowerScript components and frameworks.
- Implement n-tier, client-server, and MVC architecture patterns.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Develop custom user events, functions, and class hierarchies.
Database and integration
- Design, write, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Integrate PowerBuilder applications with Sybase ASE, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2.
- Manage ODBC/JDBC connections and transaction processing.
- Ensure data integrity, normalization, and database performance.
