Position Overview
- The Geometry, Topology, and Physics group at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Post Doctoral Associate to conduct research in geometric and topological aspects of physics.
- Research focuses on proper formulations of physical theories and uncovering new geometric and topological structures in high energy and condensed matter physics.
- The successful candidate will join a very active group including Senior Research Scientist Urs Schreiber and several Post Docs and students.
Responsibilities
- Theoretical/mathematical research on the projects of the group.
- Active participation in group activities, including weekly seminars and several workshops and conferences throughout the year.
- Giving talks internally and externally.
- Occasional light teaching support, including assisting in one course per year and possibly mentoring of students.
Qualifications
- PhD degree in Mathematics or Theoretical/Mathematical Physics with interest in interdisciplinary research.
- Less than 5 years post receipt of PhD.
- Research experience and interest at the interface of geometry/topology/physics.
