- Oversee all port operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and port maintenance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards
- Develop and implement procedures to optimize port operations and improve efficiency
- Monitor vessel movements and coordinate with port authorities to ensure timely arrivals and departures
- Manage a team of port staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations
- Conduct regular inspections of port facilities and equipment to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate the movement of cargo and ensure timely delivery to clients
- Maintain accurate records of all port activities, including vessel movements, cargo handling, and port expenses
- Prepare reports and presentations on port operations for management and stakeholders
- Stay updated on industry developments and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a port or shipping company
- Strong knowledge of port operations, vessel handling, and cargo handling procedures
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
- Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
