Plant Supervisor

Job Purpose

Key Accountabilities

• Monitor and control SCADA at the industrial wastewater treatment plant.
• Maintain equipment replacement parts and supervise or assist staff and contractors with repairs.
• Review operational and maintenance quotations for cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate wastewater operations and verify pretreatment systems and equipment operators are functioning as planned.
• Maintain field logs and spreadsheets, issue work orders, and schedule preventive maintenance.
• Use operating data and staff reports to maintain peak pretreatment system performance.
• Control chemical ordering, storage, disposal, and availability.
• Manage sludge disposal and maintain plant documentation.
• Implement plant safety procedures and follow established task standards.
• Manage laborers and assistants in daily plant tasks.
• Respond to mechanical and electrical plant problems.
• Document analyses, material movements, and consumables.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a water treatment environment and plant operations is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical plant equipment.
• Understanding of chemical processes and water treatment.
• Knowledge of sampling procedures and equipment maintenance.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Careful and methodical approach with good attention to detail.
