Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business requirements to identify insights, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare layouts and cross-sectional drawings for municipal, healthcare, hazardous, and fallen stock waste treatment facilities.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers on integrated plant designs.
• Develop BoQs covering materials, labor, and equipment for civil, electromechanical, and infrastructure components.
• Design waste treatment systems including MRFs, composting, RDF, landfills, remediation, incineration, and autoclave units.
• Ensure designs meet environmental, health, and safety regulations and promote sustainable solutions.
• Prepare design reports, specifications, and technical documentation, and support construction and commissioning.
• Coordinate with project managers, facility operators, clients, and stakeholders during reviews and presentations.
• Follow HSE policies, safe design practices, site conduct requirements, and mandatory safety training.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field is required; the source also lists business administration, data science, marketing, or design degrees.
• At least five years of relevant experience in waste management infrastructure design is required.
• Experience with waste sorting, composting, RDF, incineration, autoclaving, stabilization, and old dumpsite remediation is required.
• Experience producing layouts, cross-sectional designs, and technical documentation for civil and electromechanical systems is required.
• Familiarity with environmental laws, regulations, and sustainability practices is required.
• Additional waste management, sustainability, or process engineering certifications or courses are advantageous.

Skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar design software.
• Knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical design principles for waste management facilities.
• Expertise in waste processing systems and treatment technologies.
• Accuracy in technical drawings, cross-sections, calculations, BoQs, specifications, and reports.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.
