Planning Engineer

Job Purpose

Project Planning and Scheduling

• Assist senior planners with baseline development.
• Develop work breakdown structures, activity logic, calendars, and durations.
• Prepare two- to four-week look-ahead schedules aligned with site execution.
• Update programmes based on actual site progress.

Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting

• Collect progress data from site engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors.
• Measure physical progress and critical path activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Prepare progress dashboards, S-curves, and histograms.

Coordination and Programme Control

• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and procurement teams.
• Support sequencing and construction methodology planning.
• Identify schedule slippages and notify senior staff.
• Maintain planning logs, schedule narratives, progress backup documents, and archived submissions.

Meetings and Compliance

• Attend internal coordination meetings and support client or consultant progress discussions.
• Issue planning inputs for meeting minutes when required.
• Ensure planning deliverables comply with contract conditions, consultant requirements, and client formats and timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• PMI-SP, PSP, or PMP certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum 4–6 years of progressive project planning and scheduling experience in construction, infrastructure, facilities management, or engineering.
• At least 3–5 years in a planning role with experience in baseline development, resource loading, critical path analysis, risk management, and claims or delay analysis.
• Experience managing schedules on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office Suite.
• Familiarity with FIDIC standards, contractual obligations, and industry regulations.
