Landscape Architect

Role Overview

Landscape Design and Planning

• Develop creative and functional landscape designs for public spaces, commercial properties, and residential developments.
• Conduct site assessments covering topography, soil, drainage, climate, and ecological factors.
• Create site plans, technical drawings, sketches, blueprints, and 3D visualizations.

Sustainability and Infrastructure

• Use native plants, water-efficient irrigation, eco-friendly materials, green infrastructure, and climate-responsive planning.
• Design irrigation, drainage, stormwater, xeriscaping, and rainwater harvesting solutions.
• Plan biodiversity-friendly landscapes, rooftop gardens, green corridors, and urban green spaces.

Coordination and Delivery

• Coordinate with architects, engineers, urban planners, construction teams, clients, agencies, and developers.
• Prepare cost estimates, material lists, budget plans, timelines, resource plans, and permit applications.
• Supervise construction, contractors, quality control, and compliance with design specifications.

Client and Project Management

• Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders and incorporate feedback into final proposals.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, deadlines, and implementation challenges.
• Research new landscape architecture, urban ecology, smart landscaping, and AI-driven planning technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, such as a BLA or BSLA.
• 5–10 years of experience in landscape architecture, urban planning, or site development depending on project scale and complexity.
• Experience delivering commercial, residential, and public landscaping projects.

Design and Technical Skills

• Advanced skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, GIS, Lumion, and other landscape design software.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for presentations and visualizations.
• Strong understanding of BIM, site planning, master planning, and land-use analysis.
• Knowledge of irrigation, drainage, water management, green infrastructure, ecological restoration, and LEED principles.

Professional Capabilities

• Knowledge of zoning laws, building codes, environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and permitting.
• Ability to manage costs, timelines, resources, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong communication, presentation, analytical, creative, collaborative, and adaptive problem-solving skills.

• Follow company health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements and remain current with policy updates.
• Comply with information security policies, protect accounts and sensitive information, and report security incidents appropriately.
