The In-patient Pharmacist provides safe, accurate, and efficient medication dispensing while supporting regulatory compliance, medication safety, and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense inpatient prescriptions according to DOH, JCI, and hospital standards.
- Provide patient counseling on medication use, dosing, precautions, and storage.
- Identify therapeutic duplications, interactions, and medication-related issues, and coordinate with physicians and nurses to optimize orders.
- Support LASA management, high-alert medication guidelines, inventory control, expiry monitoring, and proper storage.
- Document interventions and participate in quality improvement, department meetings, training, and competency assessments.
Qualifications
- Valid UAE Pharmacist License or DOH license, or eligibility for the license.
- Experience in an inpatient or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
