Percussive Driller

Summary

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety standards and practices before, during, and after work. • Conduct pre-start checks of work area and equipment. • Set up and position drilling equipment according to site plans and safety requirements. • Operate percussive drilling machinery to drill holes of specified depth and diameter for blasting or other purposes. • Monitor drilling progress and adjust parameters such as speed, pressure, and alignment to maintain accuracy and efficiency. • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment to ensure optimal functionality. • Maintain accurate drilling logs and records for reporting and compliance purposes. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate activities and resolve issues promptly. • Assist with loading and unloading consumables such as drill rods, bits, and explosives as required. • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of drilling experience. • 770010 Underground Hardrock Common Core / U0090 Operate Mechanized Long Hole Drill. • Experience on Stopemaster is an asset. • Mobile bulk blasting experience is an asset (MTCU U0092). • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. • Sound knowledge, skills, and experience in operation of heavy machinery. • Proven ability to recognize and follow verbal and written instructions. • Able to work rotation, day, and night shifts as may be required. • Able and willing to travel as required. o Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license is required.
