Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Pastry Chef with stable working history and extensive experience as a baker and pastry chef.
The role oversees pastry and baking functions, including menu development, purchasing, inventory, cost control, and recipe testing.
Responsibilities
- Create desserts, cakes, sweets, cookies, breads, and baked goods, including products for specific dietary needs.
- Bake and decorate products, develop recipes, and support dessert menus that maximize profit and minimize loss.
- Manage suppliers, ingredients, purchasing budgets, stock, inventory, portions, and waste.
- Maintain equipment and utensils, organize tastings, and keep work areas clean and orderly.
- Maintain food hygiene and health and safety standards and troubleshoot kitchen problems.
Experience and Education
- Minimum five years of pastry cooking or Pastry Chef experience with high-volume food production.
- High school diploma, five years of relevant experience, or a two-year degree in a related culinary or hospitality major.
- A pastry-focused culinary degree and health, safety, or food hygiene courses are advantageous.
- Excellent English command is required, and English is spoken at the workplace.
