Overview

  • University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is the first national university specializing in academic applied, technical, and professional education in Qatar.
  • The College of General Education is seeking qualified part time instructors to teach in person first and second year undergraduate laboratory courses in Chemistry and Biology.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering first and second year undergraduate laboratory course content
  • Engaging students using creative and innovative teaching approaches
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback on assessments and assignments
  • Assessing and evaluating student progress in line with course outcomes
  • Collaborating with faculty teams to support curriculum goals
  • Managing instructional resources and maintaining an effective learning environment
  • Adhering to institutional policies on academic integrity, attendance, and student support

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related applied or pedagogical field) from a recognized university
  • A minimum of three (3) years of full time teaching experience at the upper secondary level or in post secondary/higher education institutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post graduate certificate, diploma, or degree in education or teaching methods
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated experience teaching first year undergraduate courses

Other Required Skills

  • Proficiency with adaptive learning technologies and learning management systems
  • Ability to support inclusive, technology enhanced learning environments
  • Digital fluency in tools that promote student engagement and feedback
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collegiality and professionalism in working with students and faculty
  • Ability to manage the resources of the learning environment and course portfolio documents required for program review and accreditation processes
