Packaged/SaaS Application Engineer

Project Role

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert and own technical decisions for API integration design, development, configuration, and implementation.
• Design, develop, configure, and maintain Axway API integrations.
• Manage REST/SOAP integrations, API policies, routing, security settings, and data transformations.
• Configure Axway API Gateway components and manage publishing, monitoring, versioning, governance, and support.
• Troubleshoot API failures, connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, architecture, development, and business teams.
• Improve API performance, reliability, automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Mentor junior team members on API integration concepts, Axway tools, and troubleshooting.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Axway API Management, Axway API Gateway, and API Manager.
• Extensive experience with API lifecycle management and RESTful or SOAP-based APIs.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, OAuth, digital certificates, and encryption.
• Experience with API policies, transformations, routing, mediation, and service orchestration.
• Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, middleware, and cloud integration architectures.
• Experience with JSON, XML, XML schemas, HTTP protocols, and web services.
• Ability to troubleshoot API issues, analyze logs, and optimize API performance.
• Knowledge of API monitoring, governance, and operational support processes.

Experience and Education

• The posting states a minimum of 5 years of overall experience in the project-role header.
• Additional information requires a minimum of 6 years of experience with the Axway API Management Platform.
• Fifteen years of full-time education are required.

Methods and Practices

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, SDLC processes, version control, and deployment practices.
