About the Role
JAM Event Services is hiring an Oracle Data Engineer for a 6-month remote contract. The role focuses on extracting Finance, Supply Chain, and Warehouse data from Oracle Fusion using DET and BICC, and building Python-driven pipelines.

Responsibilities
- Configure and execute Oracle Fusion DET and BICC extracts across Finance, Supply Chain, and Warehouse subject areas
- Build and maintain Python SOAP scripts to download flat file extracts from Oracle UCM to the on premises environment
- Manage incremental watermark logic to ensure daily loads are reliable, auditable, and recoverable
- Load raw extracts into the Bronze staging layer in MS SQL Server with deduplication and audit columns
- Apply SCD Type 2 history tracking and incremental MERGE/UPSERT logic in the Silver layer
- Enforce data quality gates, referential integrity checks, and business rule validations in the Gold layer
- Build Prefect flows for all pipeline jobs with scheduling, retry logic, failure alerting, and logging
- Set up pipeline monitoring and produce runbooks to support offshore handover and day to day operations
- Work closely with the BI team to receive and apply data discovery findings, business logic, and SQL join conditions
- Participate in source to target mapping reviews and flag extraction gaps or data quality issues early
- Support handover to the reporting team once Gold layer data is validated and pipeline is stable
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience specializing in ETL/ELT development and data warehousing design
- 3+ years of hands on experience using Python for data transformation, parsing multiple file types, and managing file downloads via SOAP/REST APIs
- 2+ years of direct, hands on experience configuring Oracle Fusion data extraction tools (DET and BICC)
- Strong understanding of Oracle Fusion data models across Finance, Supply Chain, and Warehouse
- 4+ years of experience with SQL Server, including data warehouse design patterns, complex joins, stored procedures, and MERGE/UPSERT logic
- Demonstrated experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
- 1+ years of practical experience using workflow orchestration tools like Prefect
- Must have own UAE residence visa and NOC
- Must have valid medical insurance (not provided)
- Must be available to work UAE hours from Monday to Friday

Job Overview
- We are seeking a technical and detail oriented Data Engineer to spearhead data extraction and warehousing initiatives.

Skills Required
- Hands on experience with Oracle Fusion data extraction tools — DET and BICC
- Proficient in downloading and handling flat file extracts from Oracle UCM via SOAP (GenericSoapPort)
- Understanding of Oracle Fusion data models across Finance, Supply Chain, and Warehouse subject areas
- Familiarity with Oracle BICC scheduling, subject area configuration, and incremental extract patterns
- Strong Python scripting skills for file download, parsing, transformation, and data loading
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with incremental watermark based logic
- Familiarity with Prefect (or equivalent orchestration tool) for job scheduling, retry handling, and alerting
- Proficient in MS SQL Server — writing MERGE/UPSERT statements, stored procedures, and complex joins
- Experience implementing medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) or equivalent layered warehouse patterns
- Comfortable applying SCD Type 2 history tracking and data quality validation logic
- Ability to translate business logic and source to target mapping specs into working pipeline code
- Good documentation habits — runbooks, pipeline specs, and data dictionaries
Person Specification
- Overall Data Engineering Expertise: 5+ years of proven experience specializing in ETL/ELT development and data warehousing design.
- Python Programming & File Handling: 3+ years of hands on experience using Python for data transformation, parsing multiple file types (CSV, XML, JSON), and managing file downloads via SOAP/REST APIs.
- Oracle Fusion Data Extraction: 2+ years of direct, hands on experience configuring Oracle Fusion data extraction tools, specifically utilizing DET and BICC extracts.
- ERP Domain & Schema Mapping: Strong understanding of Oracle Fusion data models across Finance, Supply Chain, and Warehouse subject areas, alongside the ability to accurately map them to downstream schemas.
- Advanced SQL & Warehousing Design: 4+ years of experience working with SQL Server, featuring deep knowledge of data warehouse design patterns, complex joins, stored procedures, and MERGE/UPSERT logic.
- Modern Lakehouse Architecture: Demonstrated experience implementing and managing layered data warehouse patterns, specifically Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold environments).
- Pipeline Orchestration: 1+ years of practical experience using workflow orchestration tools like Prefect (or an equivalent) to manage job scheduling, dependency tracking, retry handling, and error alerting.
- Resilient Extract & Load Design: Proven ability to design watermark based incremental extraction logic, ensuring daily data loads are highly reliable, auditable, and easily recoverable following a system failure.
- API Integration & Fault Tolerance: Hands on experience retrieving flat file extracts from Oracle UCM via SOAP (GenericSoapPort), including writing robust error handling routines for partial or failed downloads.
- Clean Code & Architecture Practices: Track record of writing modular, reusable, and testable pipeline code, paired with strong habits for building structured business logic translations.

- Mon – Thu: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Fri: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Salary
- AED 13,000 per month No other benefits
