The Opportunity
We are seeking an Operations Training Lead to support the delivery of our new operational training model and drive capability improvements across the business. This role will play a critical part in ensuring operational training is practical, risk-aligned, and embedded into everyday ways of working, helping to build capability, improve consistency, and support safe operational performance.
This role offers the flexibility to be based anywhere in Australia while supporting stakeholders and operational teams across our national business and is a 12 month fixed term secondment opportunity
In this role, you will
Lead training-related projects and initiatives that support the implementation of the new operational training model.
Develop and maintain training guides, competency frameworks, learning resources, and operational tools that support frontline capability.
Monitor training progress, project milestones, and capability outcomes, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement.
Review and improve training processes, ensuring learning is practical, effective, and aligned to operational requirements.
Partner with operational leaders and subject matter experts to strengthen coaching, onboarding, and competency management practices.
Support key deliverables including training pilots, core module refreshes, standardised national delivery models, and the transition to blended learning solutions.
About You
You are a collaborative and solutions-focused professional who understands the realities of an operational environment and is passionate about developing workforce capability. You enjoy working with a broad range of stakeholders, simplifying complex information, and driving practical improvements that make a real difference to the business.
To be successful, you will bring
Experience in operations, training, capability, or learning and development within a large, operationally focused organisation.
Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility across all levels.
Experience developing, reviewing, or implementing training programs, competency frameworks, or operational learning tools.
The ability to analyse information, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into practical solutions.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
