Operations Manager

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for leading safe, efficient, and customer-focused site operations at Wingfield. You'll drive operational performance, optimise resources, lead a high-performing team, and ensure compliance while supporting continued business growth.

Responsibilities Include

Provide visible safety leadership and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company standards.

Lead, coach, and develop operational teams to foster a high-performing, engaged, and safety-focused culture.

Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and service excellence to achieve business objectives and customer expectations.

Manage departmental budgets, cost controls, and resource allocation to optimise financial performance.

Collaborate with sales and commercial teams to support tender submissions, customer solutions, and business growth opportunities.

Act as the primary operational contact for customer enquiries, issue resolution, and stakeholder engagement.

Oversee equipment utilisation, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site performance.

You are an experienced operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and leads by example. With a strong focus on safety, performance, and customer outcomes, you know how to engage teams, solve problems, and deliver results while driving continuous improvement.

Your Experience and capabilities

Proven experience in an Operations Manager or similar leadership role within transport, logistics, manufacturing, waste management, or an industrial environment.

Demonstrated track record of leading and developing operational teams while building a strong safety culture.

Experience managing operational budgets, cost control initiatives, and performance improvement programs.

Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements, including hazardous materials or dangerous goods operations.

Ability to drive operational efficiencies, optimise resources, and improve service delivery against key performance targets.

Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and customer relationship skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to prioritise and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in chemical waste, manufacturing, or hazardous logistics.
