Join a leading banking-sector organisation as a Payment Operations Officer.
Perform control-focused, first-level checking, verification, and processing of banking transactions before release.
Gain exposure to payments operations and transformation through automation, instant payment rails, and ISO 20022.
Key Responsibilities
- Check and verify outward payments, inward remittances, clearing, collections, payroll, cash management, and post-dated cheque transactions.
- Validate transaction details, beneficiary information, authorisations, and supporting documentation before release.
- Process transactions accurately within agreed turnaround times and daily cut-offs.
- Handle transaction tracing, repairs, returns, amendments, and queries from branches, business units, and correspondent banks.
- Support reconciliation and follow up on ageing or unmatched entries.
- Apply UAE Central Bank regulations, internal procedures, and operational control standards.
- Resolve transaction-related queries for internal and external customers.
- Identify recurring errors, control gaps, and opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Maintain accuracy while managing transaction volumes and time-sensitive deadlines.
Requirements
- One to two years of experience in banking operations, payments, remittances, trade finance, or a related back- or middle-office function.
- Strong graduates with relevant banking or financial-services internships may also be considered.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet daily deadlines without compromising quality.
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Exposure to SWIFT, core banking systems, or payment platforms is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and investigation skills.
