Role Overview

Hands-on Governance and Compliance consultant role supporting an established investment holding group in Abu Dhabi.

The role supports governance and compliance activities across multiple operational subsidiaries.

This is not an Enterprise Risk Management position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and maintain governance policy documentation from initial draft through stakeholder sign-off.
  • Build and maintain compliance obligation mappings and compliance registers.
  • Develop and maintain Delegation of Authority documentation and governance frameworks.
  • Support governance and compliance activities across multiple operational subsidiaries in different sectors.
  • Work independently with minimal onboarding.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–6 years of experience in Governance and Compliance, with policy drafting and compliance-register work as the core focus.
  • Hands-on experience drafting governance policies from a blank page and describing specific authored documents.
  • Ability to read and discuss ERM outputs such as risk registers and risk appetite without owning or designing them.
  • Experience working across multiple legal entities or subsidiaries within one group.
  • Strong stakeholder management, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Available to start onsite in Abu Dhabi by 15 September and comfortable with a fixed three-month contract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consulting background in Governance and Compliance, distinct from Internal Audit, ICFR/SOX testing, or Risk Advisory.
  • Experience with group or holding companies with diversified operational subsidiaries.
  • ADGM or UAE corporate governance exposure.

Contract and Workplace

  • Fixed three-month contract.
  • Onsite in Abu Dhabi five days per week.

Role Scope Exclusions

AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions screening, and regulated financial institution compliance are not required.

Enterprise Risk Management ownership, risk appetite or framework design, and RCSA/KRI building are not the focus.

Internal Audit execution, including control testing and SOX 404 work, is not part of the role.

IT and cybersecurity governance, including ISO 27001, NIST, and SOC 2, is not the focus.
