Responsibilities
- Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.
- Provide case cart management and perform case pull functions efficiently and accurately.
- Demonstrate proper handling of equipment, instrumentation and chemicals.
- Perform preventative maintenance and adhere to PPE standards during decontamination.
- Scan, sort, inspect and assemble instruments by instrument list and wrap and label as documented.
- Ensure proper cleaning, decontamination, assembly and high level disinfection in accordance with AAMI ST79 standards.
- Monitor and control the distribution of supplies and equipment.
- Perform recordkeeping functions within the electronic tracking system.
- Build case carts using electronic preference cards and dispatch them to appropriate locations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) required within 18 months after hire
- Ability to use computerized instrument tracking system
- One year of healthcare experience or similar background preferred

Overview
- Join Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital and experience world class healthcare.
- As a Non Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients.
- This position works evenings from 2:30PM – 11:00PM.
Responsibilities

- Perform case pull functions efficiently and accurately.

- Adhere to PPE standards during decontamination.

Minimum qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred qualifications
- One year of healthcare experience or similar background.
- Military experience as Hospital Corpsmen, Machinery Repairman, etc.
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting items 20 30 pounds.
- Ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds.
- Possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.
Pay Range
- Minimum hourly: $19.50
- Maximum hourly: $27.50
