Responsibilities
- Monitor and provide care to patients at CCAD within Digestive Disease Institute.
- Prescribe or administer medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury.
- Provide specific treatments and/or perform operations to treat patient medical conditions.
- Develop a strategic plan for the Department that supports the strategic direction of CCAD.
- Define the Department’s scope and direction in the areas of patient care, education and research.
- Oversee and resolve issues relating to resource utilization, productivity and other administrative functions.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care provided within the Department.
- Adhere to budget for the Department and analyze and explain budget variances.
- Participate in reviewing and approving plans and expenses involved in the recruitment of staff members.
- Perform annual professional review for staff.
Requirements
- MD, MBBS, or MBChB from an accredited institution
- Completion of specialty qualification as per Recognized Specialty Certificate table
- For physicians from Tier 1 countries, not less than two (2) years additional experience post qualification
- Must hold a valid License/Registration to practice in home country and/or country of last employment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team of health care professionals
- Ability to speak and write in English is required

Job Summary
- This is a physician position and is responsible for the overall general surgery leadership at Digestive Disease Institute, including all issues regarding leadership, operational, fiscal and human resource management.
- This position is responsible for the integration of all General Surgery services at the Digestive Disease Institute into CCAD’s strategic plan.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors and provides care to patients at CCAD within Digestive Disease Institute
- Prescribes or administers medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury
- Provides specific treatments and/or performs operations to treat patient medical conditions
- Evaluates patient and records applicable notes about patient’s condition
- Liaisons with other medical and non medical staff at CCAD to ensure quality patient treatment
- Develop a strategic plan for the Department
- Defines the Department’s scope and direction in the areas of patient care, education and research
- Creates a vision and supports members of the Department
- Recommends criteria for selecting the departments or services professional staff
- Recommends space, medical technology, equipment, staffing, and other resources
- Provides orientation and training for all staff
- Responsible for recommending and monitoring outside sources of services
Experience Requirements
- For Physicians from Tier 1 countries, not less than two (2) years additional experience post qualification
- Must hold a valid License/ Registration to practice in their home country and/or country of last employment (where applicable)
- Should meet the Maintenance of Certification requirements (where applicable)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team of health care professionals
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff
- Ability to speak and write in English is required
Education Requirements
- MD, MBBS, MBChB from an accredited Institution and completion of specialty qualification as per the Recognized Specialty Certificate table listed in Healthcare Professionals Qualification Requirements 2024
