Role Overview

Qualifications

• Any graduation qualification is required.
• The role requires 3–5 years of experience.
• Candidates should understand network fundamentals, network devices, IP connectivity, addressing, and network security fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, routing and switching protocols, BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF is required.
• Candidates should have Layer 1–3 troubleshooting experience across WAN, TCP/IP, subnetting, Ethernet, and OSI models.
• Good written and verbal English, customer engagement, organization, attention to detail, and teamwork are required.

Preferred Technical Experience

• Experience with internal groups, third-party clients or vendors, and local exchange carriers is preferred.
• Familiarity with SDH, SONET, Ethernet, patch panels, cross-connects, and fiber types is preferred.
• Experience with global carriers and multi-vendor DWDM optical environments is useful.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7/365 monitoring of ticket queues, phones, and IRC channels.
• Manage fiber cuts, leased wave outages, link failures, latency, packet loss, traffic issues, routing issues, and BGP issues.
• Notify providers, coordinate resolution, verify remedial work, and provide periodic stakeholder updates.
• Manage optical network alarms and faults in multi-vendor environments.
• Troubleshoot incidents, confirm fixes, restore traffic, and engage field or inventory resources.
• Track root-cause reports, vendor actions, network interconnects, and provider communications.
• Coordinate hardware recalls, replacement parts, RMA delivery, production change requests, and onsite technical work.
• Translate vendor notifications into production change requests and identify affected circuits.
• Escalate emergency changes and coordinate maintenance schedules with vendors.
• Maintain detailed ticket metadata, including affected metros, circuit identifiers, actions, issue types, close codes, and resolution times.
