Position Objective

The Senior Advisor is the principal strategic and technical sounding board to the VP of Network Operations.

The role orchestrates operational excellence across network domains and drives migration from legacy infrastructure to a zero-touch architecture.

The target operating model is TM Forum Autonomous Network Level 4 maturity with a modernized, unified NOC.

Network Operations Strategy

  • Translate trends such as 6G readiness, edge computing, and network slicing into operational roadmaps.
  • Provide direction across mobile, fixed, transport, core and cloud, IT operations, cybersecurity, and OSS/BSS domains.
  • Formulate AI/ML and AIOps strategies for predictive, generative, and closed-loop network operations.

AI, Data, and Automation

  • Deploy AIOps platforms for telemetry ingestion, anomaly detection, predictive scaling, and automated operations.
  • Evaluate generative AI and LLM applications for troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and safe configuration scripting.
  • Establish network data pipelines and ensure telemetry is clean, structured, real-time, and suitable for AI models.
  • Ensure AI decisions remain auditable and explainable while supporting regulatory compliance and engineer trust.
  • Foster AI capability development and advise on workforce skills needed for cognitive network operations.

NOC Transformation

  • Transform siloed monitoring into a unified command center across fixed, mobile, transport, core, cloud, and IT domains.
  • Optimize tiered support from automated remediation through specialist escalation using automation and AI-assisted diagnostics.
  • Drive event correlation, deduplication, noise reduction, and focus on actionable service-impacting events.
  • Own major incident management, including triage, war-room coordination, executive communication, and post-incident analysis.
  • Ensure 24/7 resilience through staffing models, shift patterns, escalation matrices, and NOC-SOC integration.

Autonomous Operations and Governance

  • Drive migration toward TM Forum Autonomous Network Level 4 and intent-driven closed-loop operations.
  • Champion predictive maintenance, automated anomaly detection, automated root-cause analysis, and self-healing infrastructure.
  • Identify structural inefficiencies, reduce OPEX, improve network quality of experience, and optimize RAN and site energy usage.
  • Align workflows, information models, and open APIs with TM Forum ODA, including eTOM, SID, and the Functional Framework.
  • Enforce and mature the FCAPS model through modern automated tooling.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a strictly related technical field is required.
  • A master’s degree is highly preferred.
  • At least 20 years of progressive telecommunications or closely related ICT experience is required.
  • At least 5 years in a similar executive advisory capacity or senior management role within a Tier-1 telecom operator is required.
  • Large-scale network transformation, automation, or modernization leadership with measurable outcomes is required.
  • Deep fixed, mobile, transport, core, IT, and cybersecurity network knowledge is required.
  • Large-scale 24/7 NOC transformation experience, including escalation, incident management, and modern tooling, is required.
  • Knowledge of TM Forum ODA, eTOM, SID, the Functional Framework, and FCAPS is required.
  • Knowledge of AIOps, AI/ML, NFV/SDN, and orchestration engines is required.
  • PMP, ITIL, TOGAF, CCIE, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, adaptability, prioritization, organization, and performance-under-pressure skills are required.
