Overview
- The Munitions Crew Chief oversees receipts, storage, inspection, transport and maintenance of U.S. Air Force (USAF) Munitions and supporting resources as applicable to the Site.
Principal Accountabilities
- Consistently observes and enforces all USAF and host nation explosives safety, AFOSH, and security standards during all explosives and non explosives operations.
- Up channels any issues impacting munitions operations to Munitions Control and Superintendent.
- Takes necessary control and ensures timely response actions during emergencies.
- Conducts all munitions work according to established quality processes.
- Monitors multiple operations, ensures work is carried out in accordance with priorities, goals and schedules.
- Performs the duties of the Munitions Supervisors in their absence.
- Reconditions, repairs and replaces defective or missing parts of munitions and containers.
- Performs munitions storage and maintenance actions according to stringent explosives standards.
- Conducts warehouse inventories and corrects any discrepancies.
- Works closely with operations personnel to resolve serviceability and accountability issues.
- Prepares and configures munitions shipments for air, sea and surface transportation.
- Uploads/downloads trucks with incoming and outgoing munitions shipments.
Qualifications
- Experience in munitions handling and explosives safety.
- Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of TICMS and MC2 systems preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and handling equipment.
Work Environment
- Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
