Role overview

Lead the technical delivery and evolution of a large-scale digital application platform in Saudi Arabia.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role spanning mobile engineering, backend integration, cloud and DevOps, and team leadership.

The role operates across engineering, architecture, security, cloud, and product teams with a focus on quality, scalability, and secure delivery.

Mobile engineering and delivery

  • Lead end-to-end technical delivery and evolution of enterprise mobile applications across iOS and Android.
  • Remain hands-on with development and technical problem solving.
  • Drive engineering standards, code quality, maintainability, and platform scalability.
  • Conduct code reviews and translate architecture decisions into engineering solutions.
  • Resolve complex application, integration, and production issues.

Platform ownership and transition

  • Own application platforms, engineering assets, and development environments.
  • Coordinate handovers and transitions covering repositories, CI/CD, documentation, monitoring, and operational processes.
  • Support application onboarding and migration into enterprise cloud environments.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer, documentation, operational readiness, and sustainable ownership models.

Backend, cloud, and security

  • Oversee mobile integrations with backend and BFF services using REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Support cloud application environments across Azure and/or AWS.
  • Drive CI/CD, deployment automation, DevOps, monitoring, logging, and operational controls.
  • Implement OAuth2 and OpenID Connect authentication and authorization patterns.
  • Support certificate, secrets, API security, access control, SSDLC, vulnerability remediation, testing, and release management.

Leadership and team development

  • Mentor mobile and software engineers through coaching, onboarding, technical hiring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Establish engineering standards, reusable practices, and technical communities.
  • Coordinate technical planning, releases, priorities, and cross-team dependencies in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required skills and experience

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including several years in a senior technical leadership capacity.
  • Strong experience with enterprise-scale mobile applications.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android.
  • Experience with Java/Spring Boot or similar backend technologies.
  • Understanding of mobile architecture and application design patterns.
  • Experience with REST APIs, microservices, BFF architectures, CI/CD, deployment automation, and DevOps practices.
