MEP Project Engineer HVAC - (Construction Industry Experience)

Role Overview

Project Coordination

• Analyze technical drawings and specifications to determine mechanical requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and clients to support seamless project execution.
• Coordinate with the main contractor to plan site activities.
• Arrange manpower in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Address submittal issues and raise RFIs for discrepancies or missing information.

Technical Delivery

• Prepare shop drawings and follow up with the main contractor and consultant for approval.
• Verify HAP heat-load, fan ESP, and pump head calculations.
• Apply knowledge of chilled-water piping, ducting, water supply, drainage, and equipment installation.
• Use knowledge of BMS, LPG, and fire systems during project delivery.
• Diagnose problems and troubleshoot equipment as needed.

Project Controls

• Ensure compliance with health and safety codes throughout the project.
• Monitor material availability on site.
• Complete quality assurance and document findings in detailed reports.
• Analyze and approve construction and engineering plans.
• Ensure project deadlines and budgetary requirements are met.
• Stay informed about developments in Mechanical Engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Five to eight years of relevant experience in the MEP industry.
• Experience in project management.
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Sound understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
• Excellent time management and diagnostic skills.
• Strong teamwork, professionalism, communication, and interpersonal skills.
