Job Summary
MEP Estimator position in Dubai within the estimation and MEP department.
The role estimates mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works for interior fit-out projects.
The position reports to the Estimation Manager or Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, BOQs, and other documents to prepare accurate MEP cost estimates.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project management teams to gather project data.
- Prepare quantity take-offs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and ELV services.
- Request and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations for MEP items.
- Prepare cost breakdowns, rate analyses, and tender documents.
- Participate in tender evaluations and value engineering processes.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, including applicable IS codes and NBC requirements.
- Attend site visits or pre-tender meetings when required.
- Maintain databases of unit rates, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Support negotiations and post-tender clarifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in MEP estimation.
- Experience in high-end construction projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting MEP drawings.
- Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or AutoCAD is optional.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Familiarity with Indian MEP codes, standards, and local market rates.
- Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
