Job Purpose
To accurately estimate MEP works (Electrical), prepare Bills of Quantities, and manage post-award cost control for industrial, cold storage, and logistics projects—ensuring budgets are monitored, cost overruns are reported, and all commercial activities comply with project requirements and authority standards.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for all MEP systems, including Electrical, ELV, and Fire Alarm works for Industrial, Cold Storage, and Logistics projects.
2.
Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) during tender and post-award stages in line with project requirements and authority regulations.
3.
Prepare project cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans after project award.
4.
Monitor project costs, track budgets, and report any cost overruns to the Commercial Manager.
5.
Manage variations by identifying scope changes, assessing cost impacts, and preparing detailed variation submissions and claims.
6.
Review and compare Contract and IFC drawings to identify discrepancies and variations.
7.
Prepare and submit monthly interim payment applications for MEP works.
8.
Evaluate and certify subcontractor payments based on actual site progress.
9.
Coordinate closely with site teams to ensure alignment with project progress and cost control.
10.
Support procurement activities, including floating enquiries, preparing technical and commercial evaluations, and assisting in vendor selection and negotiations.
Qualifications & Education (Mandatory)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience
- Total: 6 to 10 years overall
- Relevant: At least 5 years in construction
- Market/Geography: UAE / GCC experience required
Project And Domain Must-Haves
- Industrial, Cold Storage, and Logistics projects
Skills & Competencies
- *Technical:*
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency in quantity take-off and estimation software such as Plan Swift, Bluebeam Revu, and AutoCAD
- Good understanding of contract administration and variation management
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
