MEP Director

Role Overview

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the MEP delivery strategy and provide leadership across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, public health, fire protection, ELV, BMS, ICT, and specialist hospitality systems.
• Coordinate BIM/VDC, design integration, constructability, clash resolution, hospitality interfaces, and architectural and interior finishes.
• Ensure thermal comfort, indoor air quality, acoustics, lighting integration, water quality, energy efficiency, reliability, and luxury guest experience.
• Plan procurement for long-lead and specialist equipment and manage subcontractor, vendor, technical, contractual, programme, and quality performance.
• Protect critical project milestones, including mock-ups, room readiness, soft opening, and hotel opening.
• Lead testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, operator training, operational readiness, documentation, and handover.
• Lead authority approvals and maintain compliance with Saudi Building Code, Civil Defense, utility authorities, project specifications, and applicable international standards.
• Oversee cost, procurement, variations, claims, productivity, commercial risk, quality, HSE, KPIs, sustainability, value engineering, and lifecycle performance.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; a master’s degree or professional qualification is advantageous.
• At least 20 years of MEP experience with significant senior leadership responsibility.
• Experience as an MEP Director, MEP Project Director, or Senior MEP Executive with a Tier-1 main contractor.
• Track record delivering luxury hotels, resorts, branded residences, or other high-end hospitality projects.
• Significant Saudi Arabia or GCC experience; major KSA hospitality or giga-project experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with complex MEP systems, high-value specialist hospitality packages, hotel operator requirements, and the design-to-handover lifecycle.
• Experience with testing and commissioning, integrated systems testing, operator training, and operational readiness.
• Strong commercial, contractual, procurement, subcontract management, BIM/VDC, and multidisciplinary design coordination capabilities.

Project Context

• The role is associated with luxury hospitality projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within Project Operations.
• The position reports to the Project Director or Executive Project Director.
