Job Description

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for mechanical breakdowns and equipment condition in an assigned factory area.

The role supports maintenance, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, equipment overhauls, and production-line repair performance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for mechanical breakdowns in the assigned area.
  • Check equipment and maintain it in basic condition.
  • Maintain high-quality mechanical operations, standards, and controls.
  • Follow corrective, preventive, and scheduled maintenance processes and the Kanban system.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team on continuous improvement activities.
  • Comply with HSE, food safety, HACCP, GMP, 5S, and Food Defense requirements.
  • Reduce mean time to repair on production lines through effective line presence.
  • Analyze and report anomalies, complete M1, M2, and M3 notifications in the maintenance system, and confirm orders.
  • Report faults and identify overhaul, preventive maintenance plan, and spare-parts requirements.
  • Develop lesson plans for major troubleshooting cases using root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with OEMs on spare parts and critical issues.
  • Perform overhauls of equipment, motors, switchgear, and other factory components without support.

Academic Background

  • A two-year technical course in mechanical trade or a related field is required.

Technical Qualifications

  • The role requires mechanical repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and equipment-overhaul capability.
  • The role requires proper handling of chemical products.
  • The role requires compliance with HSE and food manufacturing standards.

Additional Scope

Provide backup support to the immediate supervisor.

Assist with team development plans and training.

Identify local support, spare-parts localization opportunities, and cost-effective ideas.

Support BRF sustainability activities and alignment with environmental, social, and governance commitments.
