Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate activities of the WMCC VTS centre, ensuring compliance with rules, regulations, and legislation
- Develop, maintain, and review management standards for WMCC VTS operations
- Ensure all WMCC VTS Operators are trained and qualified in compliance with Abu Dhabi Ports Safety and Quality Management Systems
- Plan, maintain, and develop emergency procedures; record and prepare evidence in response to incidents or accidents
- Manage financial, technical, and human resources issues including maintenance of shift rotas
- Manage maintenance of WMCC VTS software systems, equipment, and hardware
- Manage and review Standard of Procedures manuals, Safety Maps, Risk Assessment, and equipment
- Lead the WMCC VTS team, ensuring consistent high quality service delivery
- Assess risks of vessel movements and establish cost effective processes to optimize risk management
- Lead automation of VTS processes and system upgrades

- Relevant management qualification
- Experience in leading and managing complex operational teams with critical importance to organizational objectives
- Proven high level communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise and work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders
- Completion of C0103 1 and C0103 2 qualifications

Role Overview
- The WMCC VTS Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the WMCC VTS centre, ensuring compliance with rules, regulations, and legislation, and developing management standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the safety culture
- Ensure effective public relations and information service
- Manage financial, technical, and Human Resources issues such as maintenance of shift rotas
- Manage maintenance of WMCC VTS software systems, equipment, and hardware
- Manage and review Standard of Procedures manuals, Safety Maps, Risk Assessment, and equipment
- Manage a team of WMCC Vessel Traffic Service Operators on a continual shift roster
- Ensure availability of qualified WMCC VTS operators always; conduct appraisals and annual assessments
- Actively lead the WMCC VTS team to deliver consistent high quality service
- Assess risks of vessel movements and establish cost effective processes for risk management
- Establish methods, procedures, and technological solutions for vessel movement reporting and management
- Manage operations and traffic in Abu Dhabi waterways
- Cover WMCC VTS in operations preparation meetings for abnormal operations
Qualifications
- Relevant management qualification
- Experience in leading and managing complex operational teams with critical importance to organizational objectives
