Role purpose

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the trade compliance program, policies, procedures, and controls.
• Interpret trade laws and guide stakeholders on compliance requirements.
• Manage export license applications and sanctions compliance processes.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Lead audits, investigations, and corrective action plans.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise on policy adjustments.
• Coordinate with legal, operations, business, and technical teams.
• Deliver employee training on trade compliance.
• Represent the organization before regulators and external stakeholders.
• Maintain transaction records and reporting.
• Manage external advisors, consultants, and regulatory relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law, international trade, business administration, or a related field.
• Certification in export compliance or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of export control and sanctions compliance experience in a high-tech, telecommunications, aerospace, or defense industry.
• Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, dual-use regulations, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with compliance management software, risk assessment tools, and business intelligence software.
• Government contracts, procurement, and regulatory engagement experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
