About the Role

Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities and implement corporate communication strategies to strengthen and protect the Group’s image and reputation.
- Advise on reputation issues and communication challenges to inform effective decision making.
- Manage the delivery of the Group’s day to day public relations plans and initiatives in line with strategic objectives.
- Develop and manage effective day to day relationships with subsidiaries, assets, and operating companies.
- Develop and nurture strong media relations with core print and online media and journalists locally and globally.
- Initiate analysis of trends and metrics related to public perception and media coverage to enhance PR strategies.
- Manage the planning and scripting of targeted storytelling and stakeholder engagement strategies and content.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or equivalent
- 15 years of professional experience in progressive and more senior level roles in External communications
- At least 5 years in a managerial / supervisory position
- Strong knowledge of corporate communication strategy development and implementation
- Strong knowledge of public relations strategy development and implementation
- Creative and innovative approach to communications
- Strong knowledge of reputation management techniques and concepts
- Knowledge of the Group’s operations and various sectors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Purpose
- Manage the day to day operations of the External Communication ensuring provision of an efficient communications program across the Group.
- Support and enable targeted storytelling and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage day to day public relations and reputation risk management to promote and increase awareness of business operations and protect the Group’s reputation.
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Identify opportunities and implement corporate communication strategies to strengthen and protect the Group’s image and reputation among key stakeholders locally and internationally.
- Advise on reputation issues and communication related challenges to inform effective decision making.

Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or equivalent.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 15 years of professional experience in progressive and more senior level roles in External communications.
- Preferably experience in a large scale organization with complex business operations or experience working in various industries.
- At least 5 years in a managerial / supervisory position.
- Strong knowledge of corporate communication strategy development and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of public relations strategy development and implementation, and ability to devise strategies that drive business results.
- Creative and innovative approach to communications with the ability to identify new ways of working and lead change.
- Strong knowledge of reputation management techniques and concepts.
- Knowledge of the Group’s operations and various sectors, and ability to lead the delivery of tailored corporate communication strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
