- Extract, mine and transform data from valuable data sources
- Use machine learning tools to select features, create and optimise classifiers
- Carry out pre processing of structured and unstructured data
- Enhance data collection procedures to ensure completeness and relevance for analytics and AI initiatives
- Conduct deep exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, correlations, and anomalies
- Build and deploy scalable predictive models and machine learning solutions
- Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear, structured, and business friendly manner
- Translate business problems into analytical solutions and recommend data driven strategies
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and cross functional experts to deliver end to end solutions
- Provide coaching and technical guidance to SMEs and internal CBUAE teams
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data science methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science or related field
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in banking or financial industry
- Programming skills in R, Python, SQL, and Hive
- Excellent applied statistical skills
- Excellent knowledge of machine learning
- Strong software engineering background
- Problem solving aptitude
- Hands on experience with data science tools

Role Overview
- The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is the supervisory and regulatory authority of the banking and insurance sector in the UAE.
- We are seeking a hands on Manager – Data Science to join our Data Office.
- The role is fundamentally an execution driven position, expected to independently design, develop, test, and deploy advanced analytics and AI solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Identify AI use cases across all departments
- Extract, mine and transform data from valuable data sources
- Use machine learning tools to select features, create and optimise classifiers
- Carry out pre processing of structured and unstructured data
- Enhance data collection procedures to ensure completeness and relevance for analytics and AI initiatives

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science or a related field
- Relevant professional certifications or memberships will be considered an advantage
- Minimum of 4+ years’ experience preferably in a banking or financial industry
- Programming skills – knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and databases query languages like SQL and Hive
- Statistics – Excellent applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, and regression analysis
- Machine Learning – excellent knowledge of machine learning
- Strong software engineering background
- Problem solving aptitude
- Hands on experience with data science tools
People Management Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to direct reports towards the achievement of goals and objectives.
- Guide and mentor direct reports to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developing for higher level roles.
- Conduct performance evaluation and appraisal reports of direct reports to assess subordinates productivity and progress and identify training needs.
- Ensure continuous communication of organizational priorities, changes and strategic direction within the team.
